Goaltender Jason Bacashihua

Representing one half of the Monsters dynamic goaltending duo, netminder Jason Bacashihua teamed up with counterpart Tyler Weiman in an all-out assault on the Monsters record book .

From a season-high 43 saves in December, to a franchise-best eight-game winning streak and becoming the first Monster to be named the AHL’s Player of the Week, Bacashihua’s season was one not soon to be forgotten.

A native of Dearborn Heights, Michigan, Bacashihua finished the season with a 2.77 GAA, a 0.905 save percentage and two shutouts.

Highlights:
 
• October 11th, 2008: Made 33 saves in 4-3 overtime, season-opening win against Grand Rapids; named second star of game.

• December 21st, 2008: Made a season-high 43 saves in 3-2 shootout loss at Hershey; named second star of the game.

• February 16th, 2009: Picked up team’s first shootout win in 3-2 victory at Iowa; made 23 saves.

• February 16th – March 8th, 2009: Recorded a franchise record eight consecutive wins.

• February 26th, 2009: Registered his first shutout of the year in most lopsided win in franchise history, a 6-0 victory against Syracuse; named second star of the game with 19 saves

• February 27th, 2009: Recorded second consecutive shutout in 2-0 win against Toronto; named second star of the game.
 
• March 1st, 2009: For the week ending March 1, Bacashihua was named AHL Player of the Week; during that seven-day span, Bacashihua went 3-0, recording two shutouts to go along with a 0.65 GAA and a 0.973 save percentage.

• March 8th, 2009: Picked up eighth straight win, helping the team to a 6-3 victory against Hershey.
