Hockey Triple Header Today At The Q!

The Lake Erie Monsters will host a hockey triple header today at Quicken Loans Arena!

One ticket will provide fans admission to all three games!

Saturday’s lineup begins with two Greater Cleveland High School Hockey League matchups, followed by an American Hockey League contest between the Lake Erie Monsters and Rochester Americans. High School Hockey at The Q is presented by St. John West Shore Hospital and Orthopedic Associates.

The West Geauga Wolverines will take on the Euclid Panthers at 2:30 p.m., archrivals St. Ignatius and St. Edward will square off at 4:30 p.m. and the Monsters will take on North Division rival Rochester at 7:30 p.m.

West Geauga (2-0-0) is led by forward Connor Madden, who enters Saturday’s game with five points in two games played thus far. Euclid (1-1-0) is paced by forward Chris Burke, who tallied four points in the Panthers win at Euclid on Sunday.

In the second game, the defending Red North co-champion St. Ignatius Wildcats (1-1-0) battle the defending state champion St. Edward Eagles (1-1-0). St. Ignatius was the victor in the 2008 Thanksgiving Jesuit Classic tournament and is led by forwards Thomas Paras and Nolan Schade, as well as highly-regarded goaltender Ed Zdolshek. St. Edward recently captured the 2008 Turkey Bowl tournament and enters the game with a potent attack featuring forwards Ross Kivitt, T.J. Colvin, and Michael Mackie-Kwist.

The nightcap features an AHL North Division matchup between the Lake Erie Monsters (9-11-1-2) and Rochester Americans (5-20-0-2). Lake Erie defeated Peoria at The Q on Wednesday and the Marlies in Toronto last night due in large part to stellar goaltending from the tandem of Jason Bacashihua and Tyler Weiman.

*In honor of Vase Veekend, presented by Quicken Loans, the first 5,000 fans in attendance at Saturday evening’s Monsters game will receive a free Crate&Barrel vase to keep or re-gift for the holiday season!

Tickets can be purchased at the Quicken Loans Arena box office, by phone at (216) 420-0000, or by visiting LakeErieMonsters.com.
