5th Anniversary Season Schedule Announced

The Lake Erie Monsters will begin and end their 5th Anniversary Season at home in Cleveland, kicking off the 2011-12 schedule at Quicken Loans Arena on Friday, October 7th against the Abbotsford Heat – when the team expects to welcome our One Millionth Fan - and will conclude with the annual Fan Appreciation Night back at The Q on Saturday, April 14th against the Rochester Americans. The American Hockey League announced the 2011-12 schedule today.

The new 76-game schedule format (modified from 80 games in past years) will begin with the coming 2011-12 season, with all teams now playing 38 games at home and 38 on the road. The season has been lengthened by one week, eliminating four-games-in-five-days scenarios for every team in the league.

The Monsters will play 23 of their 38 home games on the weekend, including nine Friday games, 11 Saturday games, and three Sunday games. The team will play a total of 17 back-to-backs, as well as six three-in-threes in 2011-12.
