Defenseman Kevin Shattenkirk started his first pro season with the Monsters in the fall, playing 10 games before getting called up to Colorado in November. After recording 20 points (5G, 15A) in 31 games, Shattenkirk has been named by the NHL as one of 12 rookies that will participate in All-Star festivities. He becomes the first former Lake Erie player to represent the Avs at NHL All-Star Weekend.
