Veteran Salute/Military Discount AnnouncedTweet11/12/2010 10:04 AM
The Monsters are also proud to announce that beginning immediately and for the rest of the season, fans that present a military ID at the Box Office will receive $3 off their ticket for any game. Actors Ron Livingston, Michael Cudlitz and Richard Speight, Jr., all of whom played soldiers in the HBO mini-series “Band of Brothers,” will hold a free and open-to-the-public one-hour pregame autograph session on November 12th. The trio will also drop the puck to officially begin the night’s game. “Band of Brothers” was a 2001 10-part mini-series based on the book of the same name that detailed the World War II experiences of the E Company of the 2nd Battalion, 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment assigned to the 101st Airborne Division of the United States Army. The story began with the group’s initial training and went through the end of WWII. The mini-series was directed by Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks. Livingston, Cudlitz and Speight portrayed Captain Lewis Nixon, Sergeant Denver “Bull” Randleman and Sergeant Warren “Skip” Muck, respectively. Livingston is perhaps most known for his roles in the movie “Office Space” and HBO show “Sex and the City.” A portion of the tickets sold for the November 12th game will be donated to Wounded Warrior Project, USO and The American Legion. Wounded Warrior is an organization that works to honor and empower wounded servicemen and women. USO fulfills its mission of lifting the spirits of America’s troops and their families through an extensive range of programs. The American Legion is committed to mentoring and sponsorship of youth programs in local communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting a strong national security, and continued devotion to fellow service members and veterans. There will be many other military-related in-game and in-arena elements throughout the night. As do all Friday night Monsters games, the night will also feature Dollar Dog Fridays (courtesy of Sugardale and Pepsi), with all hot dogs and sodas just one dollar each, as well as a free postgame open skate. |
