What's on Tap

The Lake Erie Monsters return to Quicken Loans Arena for their first home game in 19 days on Wednesday, February 25th when they host the Syracuse Crunch at 7:00 p.m. The game is the sixth of the season between the clubs and is the final time the Crunch will play at The Q this season. So far this season the Monsters are 4-1 against their North Division opponent.

The last time fans saw the Monsters on home ice was against the Crunch on February 6th. Since then, a lot has changed. 19 days, nine games, and more than 3,500 miles have been traveled since the last time the Monsters skated at The Q. The team went 4-5 on their extended road trip, ending it the way it began: with a win over the Western Conference leader, the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Goaltender Tyler Weiman has enjoyed success against the Crunch, as he has recorded two of his league-leading six shutouts against the Crunch in a 4-0 win over the Crunch on December 20th and a 3-0 win against Syracuse on January 30th. The next game between the Monsters and Crunch is slated for March 13th at the Onondaga County War Memorial.

Lake Erie will play their next seven games on home ice, which includes 11 of their next 13 at The Q and seven contests in 12 days beginning with Wednesday’s tilt.
