Monsters Looks to Break Skid in Chicago

MATCHUP
The Lake Erie Monsters (24-19-2-5) will attempt to break out of a season long 0-3-0-3 losing streak as they pay their first visit to AllState Arena this season to meet the Chicago Wolves (23-16-4-2), with the action beginning at 8:00 PM on ESPN 850 WKNR. The Monsters fell a night ago in Grand Rapids by a 5-3 score, and have lost back-to-back games in regulation. The Wolves are coming off a 4-3 overtime loss at home to Charlotte on Thursday, and are winless over their last two games. The Monsters and Wolves have met once previously this season; a 3-2 Chicago regulation win at Quicken Loans Arena on December 15, 2012.

LAST TIME OUT
The Monsters twice held leads- 2-1 and 3-2- but were outscored 2-0 in the third period, falling to Grand Rapids by a 5-3 score last night. Tyler McNeely had a goal and an assist for the Monsters, while Karl Stollery and Paul Carey also potted goals. Markus Lauridsen factored on the scoresheet twice, as his two-assist performance marked his first multi-point game in the AHL.

WHO TO WATCH: MONSTERS
Carey continued his hot streak, scoring his 11th goal of the season. Carey, a first-year professional out of Boston College, has eight goals over his last 15 games for the Monsters.

WHO TO WATCH: WOLVES
Former Monsters forward Darren Haydar- one of the most decorated offensive players in AHL history- managed just one assist over his first 10 games played this season. Since then, the 2006-07 AHL MVP has managed 13 goals and 19 assists for 32 points over his last 30 games played, and leads the Wolves with 33 points through 40 games.

TUNE IN
All of this evening's action, live from Rosemont, Illinois, can be heard live on ESPN 850 WKNR beginning at 8:00 PM Eastern with Doug Plagens on the play-by-play.
