Down 1-0 early in the second period, the Monsters rattled off three straight goals in the middle frame to take a 3-1 lead after 40 minutes. Patrick Rissmiller, Patrick Bordeleau and Zach Cohen scored during the second.

Hershey cut the deficit to one early in the third, before Peter MacArthur scored at 17:40 to take a 4-2 lead. Hershey scored at 18:35 to make it a one-goal game, but the Monsters were able to hold on for the 4-3 lead.

Playing his first game since December 28th due to the injury, Monsters goalie Cedrick Desjardins stopped 27 of 30 shots to pick up the win.
