Monsters vs. Wolves

Tonight Lake Erie will host the Chicago Wolves for a 7:30 p.m. face off at The Q.

The Monsters will look for their first win of the season against the Wolves, as Lake Erie has posted a 0-2-1-0 mark against Chicago this season.

On November 5th, Lake Erie dropped a 6-5 overtime decision to the Wolves at The Q. After the Monsters set a season high with three power play goals in the first period, the two teams traded goals, twice, before Chicago went on a four-goal run. In that outburst, former Monster Darren Haydar recorded a natural hat trick, including the overtime winner with less than a second left in the extra session.

The Monsters traveled to Allstate Arena on November 21st and fell by a 5-2 count. In that game, it was Andre Deveaux who recorded a hat trick for Chicago, including the eventual game winner at 8:51 of the second period. Mark Olver scored both Lake Erie goals, including a power play tally at 2:23 of the second period.

On November 23rd, the Wolves hosted Lake Erie for a rematch at Allstate Arena, taking a 6-3 win for their third consecutive victory over the Monsters. In that game, the Monsters surrendered a season high for shots in a game (46) and in a period (22).

Matt Ford scored twice for the Monsters, while defenseman Ray Macias assisted on both.

The Monsters enter this weekend’s action on a four-game home point streak (3-0-1-1).

With a 93.7% efficiency, Lake Erie’s home penalty killing unit is the best in the AHL. Only four power play goals have been scored against the Monsters at The Q this season.

Tonight's game will be broadcast live on AM 1220 WHKW and AHL Live. Tickets are available online or by calling (216) 420-0000.

Peoria will play in Hamilton tonight, before wrapping up a four-game road swing in Cleveland on Saturday.
