Certainly one of the most reliable Monsters defensemen, Travis Gawryletz made his AHL debut in 2009-10 after spending the first 16 games of the season with the Elmira Jackals of the ECHL.
After signing a pro tryout contract with the Monsters in late November, Gawryletz’s steady play kept him in the lineup through early April. In 51 games with the Monsters in 2009-10, Gawryletz posted 12 points (2G, 10A) and 35 penalty minutes before being returned to central New York to help Elmira with their playoff run in April. In five playoff contests, Gawryletz registered six penalty minutes with the Jackals to close out the 2009-10 season.
Born in Trail, British Columbia, Gawryletz spent 2008-09 in Elmira after a four-year collegiate career at University of Minnesota-Duluth.
