"Local Favorites" Program Offer Small Businesses the Opportunity to Leverage Cavs and Monsters Media and Promotional Assets

The Cleveland Cavaliers and Lake Erie Monsters have announced “Local Favorites,” a new program designed to give an assist to local small business owners giving them the unique opportunity to leverage the media and promotional assets of both teams. This collaborative and cost-efficient program allows multiple businesses to team up and take advantage of a partnership they may not be have been able to participate in independently.

The Local Favorites program includes shared time and space on some of the most dominant LED signage, radio spots, in-game promotions (such as a lucky section or row giveaways of gift cards and products from each partner, to encourage visiting their business) and other print and hospitality components for both teams. Additionally, dedicated pages on both the Cavs and Monsters websites list all the Local Favorites partners offering fans a comprehensive place to learn more about each business.

“We’re pleased to offer opportunities through creative programs like Local Favorites that supports local business owners by giving them exposure to the Cavaliers and Monsters fan base," said Kerry Bubolz, executive vice president of corporate sales and broadcasting.

“The thing that impressed me the most was the genuine feeling of the program being a partnership and not just another vehicle to advertise,” said Matthew Ullom, owner of Sweet Melissa’s of Rocky River, the first Local Favorites partner. “The Cavalier and Lake Erie Monster family make you feel as a small local business that you are a critical part of their success and family.”

Other Local Favorite partners include: Ingersoll Hardware, Kleinhenz Jewelers, Olympia Candy, Mallorca, Becker’s Donuts and Bakery, The Boneyard, Bullseye Activewear Inc., Color Nation Salon and Spa, A Taste of Excellence Catering, Liquid Planet, NuLife Fitness and Silver Fox Florists. There are still opportunities to partner this season.
