Monsters on the Road Against Griffins

MATCHUP
For the third time this season, the Lake Erie Monsters (27-24-2-7) will hit the ice against the Grand Rapids Griffins (33-19-2-2), and they're looking for their first win this season against Grand Rapids. the Monsters are 2-3-0-0 over their last five games and are hoping to rebound from Thursday's 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Peoria Rivermen, while Grand Rapids has won four-of-five, leads the Midwest Division, and is coming off a 2-1 home win over the Hamilton Bulldogs a night ago.

LAST TIME OUT
The Monsters opened the scoring when Mike Connolly fired home a nice pass from Andrew Agozzino just 20 seconds into the game, but with the score tied at 2-2 in the early half of the third period, the Monsters were victimized by an inopportune bounce in front of the net that resulted in Peoria scoring the eventual game-winning goal. Agozzino had his 10th multi-point game for the Monsters as he tallied a goal and an assist, and with an assist, Luke Walker stretched his point streak to three games.

WHO TO WATCH: MONSTERS
Luke Walker has a three-game point streak; the longest active for the Monsters. He has a goal and four points over the three games, and has been generating scoring chances while helping his teammates create opportunities as well. Walker's speed will be a big factor against a Griffins club that possesses a great deal of quickness.

WHO TO WATCH: GRIFFINS
Gustav Nyquist has five goals and 12 points over his last seven games for the Griffins, and with 57 points in 55 games, the Detroit Red Wings prized prospect leads the American Hockey League in points. Nyquist was the 121st overall selection in the 2008 draft by Detroit.

TUNE IN
All of tonight's action, beginning at 7:00 PM, can be heard on AM 1220 WHKW live from Grand Rapids with Doug Plagens on the play-by-play.
