Olver Added to All-Star Lineup

The American Hockey League on Thursday announced that Lake Erie center Mark Olver will be one of four additions to this year’s AHL All-Star Classic presented by Capital Blue Cross. The rookie center from Burnaby, BC, leads the Monsters with 18 goals this season, while his 29 points in 45 games rank second on the club.

Olver will be replacing Lake Erie’s original selection, Ryan Stoa, at this year’s festivities in Hershey, Pa., as Stoa is currently with parent club Colorado.

After playing the first four games of the season with the Avalanche – his first stint in the NHL – Olver joined Lake Erie and made an immediate impact, scoring in both of his first two games.

On January 20th, Olver established a season-high five-game goal streak by scoring an overtime tally in a 2-1 victory over Rochester.

Olver’s seven multi-point games on the season tie for first on the team (Ben Walter), while his 18 goals rank 10th among all-time franchise leaders.

Olver was Colorado’s fourth selection (5th round, 140th overall) in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft.
